Gastrointestinal Disorders:

Division of Gastroenterology:  The Harbor-UCLA Division of Gastroenterology, headed up by Viktor Eysselein, M.D., offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment of the full spectrum of gastrointestinal and liver diseases. Areas of special expertise include gastrointestinal motility disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. Our capabilities include one of the very few Endoscopic Ultrasound diagnostic units in Southern California. In addition to our primary site of service in Torrance, our Gastroenterology sub-specialists also serve patients at satellite locations in Downey and Whittier.

Highlights of treatment modalities employed at our Torrance location include:

Endoscopic palliation of esophageal, gastric, biliary and pancreatic cancers, with placement of self-expandable metal stents to open up obstructing tumors.

Treatment of intra and extrahepatic bile duct stones, employing a combined approach utilizing radiology and electrohydrolic lithotrypsy.

Treatment of acute and chronic pancreatitis with endoscopy.
